HYFC
Heartland Youth For Christ

Make Every Moment Count

Hurting youth are hiding in plain sight. They are waiting for someone to step out of what is comfortable, into their world. The birth of Jesus was God stepping out of heaven, into our uncomfortable world. Our Make Every Moment Count initiative is challenging believers to engage youth like Jesus engaged us. Will you join us?

Day 1
December 1

Give Lift

Day 1: Lift up youth in your life through prayer.

Your prayers might be for the students in your church, a youth connected to your family, or a young person you know through a friend. James 5:16 reminds us that "the fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." To join our prayer team, click here.

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people” - 1 Tim. 2:1

Day 2
December 2

Give Light

Day 2: Compose a letter to a young person.

Consider writing to a
youth who's close to you but perhaps hasn’t heard from you in a while. Receiving a letter can dramatically impact a young person’s life, becoming a
 pivotal, life-altering moment.
Learn more about the impact of a positive letter and get some tips on what
you might include.

Unsure who to write? We work with young people every day who could use an encouraging letter. Consider writing one for an anonymous student and uploading it here.

Day 3
December 3

Give Love

Day 3: Spend quality time with a young person.

Most teens have only two meaningful adult relationships. According to The Annie E. Casey Foundation, 85% of young people with a mentor say that relationship has aided their academic pursuits. Fifty-eight percent say their mentor has helped support their overall mental
well-being. And for those under age 40, 60% are still drawing on advice from childhood
 mentors.

The first step to becoming a mentor is simply making time to do so. To learn more about Heartland
YFC and how you might be able to serve as a mentor, please contact us.

Day 4
December 4

Give Lavishly

Day 4: Financially support youth in your area.

This might mean giving to your youth group or supporting a young person's mission trip. If unsure where to give, we'd ask that you'd consider Heartland YFC. We equip young people with skills to live a Christ-centered life, engage them in Christ-sharing relationships, and empower them to share the love of Jesus with others.

If unable to make a financial gift, would you set up a Personal Fundraising Page to help raise funds for HYFC? It’s easy, free, and can make an eternal difference in the lives of young people.

Day 5
December 5

Give Life

Day 5: Share the gospel with a young person.

This is the day it all comes together. We can't forget why we're here or the urgent need to reach every young person with the message of eternal life. The time has come to step out and share what God's done in your life with a youth who desperately needs to hear it.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:16
